I took the liberty of applying the Whyte notation to these locomotives in the same way that the S.P. did with the 'cab forwards' - viz leading undriven carrying wheels first followed by first set driving wheels etc. based on their normal mode of operation. Donald Binns, another plug for his excellent book on the Kiton Mayers, uses the Whyte notation in the way you describe.
