"This reminds me so much of last year, when the main fare at the ashpit was speculation about how Chama Steam would fail."
I don't detect that at all. It is nothing like last year unless people like you make it that way. I just asked a simple question. As usual we get bashed by the over sensitive Jay types.
"Nobody over here responded to your request because Jay hasn't confided with anyone over here. In another ten days we will know the answers to your questions. Since you aren't paying for a ride, I suppose you don't really need to know in advance."
You are quite correct. I am NOT paying. But I will find out anyway and the roads are public domain. I have paid my way plenty of times. so if this time if it's called 'free loading' I don't care. Personally, I will be just as happy to watch the regular passenger go up the hill. If his 'freight' happens to run by too then that is just a plus isn't it.
"The first Chama Steam ended in light snowfall. That was not a problem, because a wonderful picture resulted, as 463 disappeared from active service into the snow (instead of into a sunset). Only after the events are over will we know how the various events work out and how the paying participants feel about them."
I assume everyone will have a good time as that's what it's all about. I plan to have one too. I have ridden C&T many times. This time I am going to just watch. One memorable trip the scenery changed from green in Chama to fall colors to snow on cumbres. There was six inches of the stuff at Osier and then it was 90 degrees in Antonito. Quite a trip. Mountain weather can be unpredictable.
"Tune back in then."
I have never found my way over the back roads as it always rains when I am there and our suv does not have mud tires. So we will more than likely wave goodbye at Los Pinos and pick it up again in Antonito. I worked one of the Friends ROW clearing projects a few years back so I have virtually walked most of the row from osier to mud tunnel anyway.
