Well, Chris,
Irony and sarcasm don't interpret well when written. Please don't question my intellectual ability, because I won't get into a battle of wits against an unarmed man.
Rejoice at the purchase? Nope, can't do it. The CHS has once again put their resources into a purchase that will only add to the millstone around their collective necks.
As far as location, remember, the CRRM is located on the old CC main line, which was 3-rail and although they do not actually occupy the old right-of-way, they are close enough to qualify.
If you think that the steel coaches are the most "Historically accurate" then you ought to rethink your post. They may be in a historic location, but the C&S had no 3'gauge steel coaches just like they had no 3' gauge diesels. But hey, if you think that they're accurate, solid windows and all, go for it.
Yes, they have the ex-C&S RPO, Coach and business car. They are in a location where the rail was never laid, just like the "Unhistoric" CRRM, in a building that is a re-creation of nothing that ever existed before. Yes, the old C&S cars won't get used, but they can't be accessed, either which makes them nothing but large paperweights for all the good that they are doing tfor the public and historians.
The bumblers at the CHS need all the support from people like you that they can get... Rave on!
