My point was that there will be a "historical accuracy" value to being able to ride the Loop during winter time. Your complaint that the newly purchased coaches don't have "clerestory roofs" is, well, stupid.
The CHS already has the most "historically accurate" narrow gauge passenger cars anywhere in Colorado. Unlike the CRRM passenger cars in Golden, the CHS's C&S cars are on location where they were actually used. Unlike the D&SNG's passenger cars, the CHS's cars haven't been totally rebuilt with steel. Arguably, the only other narrow gauge cars that are as "historically accurate" anywhere in the continental US are the EBT's cars in Rockhill Furnance.
Honestly, I think we should all be rejoicing over the CHS purchase of these three steel cars. The arrival of these coaches will help ensure ensure that the C&S coaches stay safely encased in the storage building.... and not used up (like #9) after being pressed into daily service.
