I don't know anything more than what I have learned on this board about EBT, but there is a parallel here if in fact it did go to S.America, with the disposition of SVRy 16,17,18, and 50 during the war to Peru. It suprises me that the SVRy lokies would have been shipped out during the war rather than being cut up for scrap for the war effort. It suprises me that an equipment dealer would be able to broker this kind of deal during the war. Was there some reason that rr operations in Peru were considered vital or at least beneficial to the USA during the war?
Also, assuming the AFE materials are extant for the EBT either on site at the offices and/or the Nat.Archives, there will probably be an AFE for the retirement and disposal of the engine. Many of SVRy's AFE's provide a bit of background info on the transactions being recorded such as who sold to, in respect to engines and equipment that was sold. Engines that were cut up and scrapped on site, there is nothing but the retirement AFE.
