The White Pass ended up owning at least some of the ex-C&S cars that the Army sent north. Once the company went to using containers it seems that many of the box cars were cut down to flat cars. It also seems that the consturction method of the Battendorf underframes caused them to be weak at the draft gear. As the cars got older and the trains heavier they pulled out draftgear on the cars.
