Ok, here are the photos of the two stock cars. I had to shrink them slightly to get under the size limit.
I have many others, but at the moment, I can't seem to get my CD-ROM drive to work and load them (My on-going feud with Electronics continues...).
Anyway, both of these are photos of the cars taken from where they were sitting before.
They join outfit car 04946 as part of the growing collection. The ultimate plans for them are still a little fuzzy, but, the immediate concerns are getting them covered as much as possible, and in the not too distant future, getting them to a permanent home. My ultimate goal is to fix them up as much as possible. Getting them operable would be a nice goal someday, and with all of the remarkable events going on with engines like the 315 and 20, I can't say that it never will, but if nothing else, I want to get the bodies completely restored.
Whatever I end up with I plan on at least being available to the railroad community in some fashion. I'm not the type of person to hoard toys, nor historical equipment.
Once I'm closer to the west coast and not here in wonderfully humid and hot North Carolina, everything should take a better shape. My Dad is a lot closer to the action right now, and we're currently working on some other potential acquisitions. We mostly trying to focus on cars at risk, and those that are rare or more rare. The 04946 was at the point of potentially being burned for being strictly a nuisance, and the other three cars were part of a package type deal that also landed the 5995 safely in C&TS hands. In a few more months, I should have a much better idea of what the ultimate plans, or at least mid-term plans are for the cars, and whatever others I happen to get ahold of.
I'm trying to get back into the swing of things in the NG world. College was quite busy, and now that I'm officially a working man, it's still busy, but, it's also a little more organized, so I think you'll all be hearing from me a lot more (That makes you all happy, right?
)
By the way, does anyone have the link for Dave Dyes new site. I seemed to have misplaced it.
