IIRC, the day I rode this, I was told that one loco would have made the run in good weather. But the second was put on to assure no problems up to Cumbres due to slick rails.

Either way, It was a blast.

Several people wanted to know if I was getting cold staying in the rider gon. I said no and opened up my camera case. It was stuffed with extra clothing. As Mom always said, with the Rockies and its uncertain weather, always take layers of clothing to take off or put on. People were a little startled that I'd remove my shoes and add an extra set of socks then replace my shoes.
