One thing about the running of speeders I think got left out was the insurance angle. It's been several years since I've run my motorcar, so I'm not up on the latest. But the insurance was a big deal. The group I ran w/ had a group policy that was rather complicated. I belive it basicly kept everyone from suing each other in the event of badness. Most important to the RR involved was that it protected them from being sued by an outside party for letting us run on their property [gradecrossing accident]. I last ran maybe 6yrs ago, and I thing the insurace cost was maybe $150/yr- I'd guess it's gone up since then! SR PS: My car is SG, former Sacramento Northern #M-51, so I never ran on the C&T or D&S.
