Hi,

For the industrial parks with rail access I helped design in the 1970's, a minimum depth of ballast between the ties and the sub roadbed was 6" on industrial (light duty, low speed, SG) track. This is probably similar to the C&TS.

If I remember correctly, MARTA and the Georgia RR realignment (for MARTA) was a minimum of 8" or 10".
