The Valley line was pulled up in February 1951. Anything that was sent to Alamosa from Salida after that was loaded on a std. Ga. flat and sent around via Pueblo.

Yep. they all went to Alamosa in '56. 481 in March, 483 in July,
480, 482 & 489 in September. IIRC 489 was the last engine to operate out of Salida, pulling a 'sled" to knock the narrow ga track loose from the grade prepratory to std. gauging.

Not to my knowledge. 456 was hauled west early in '49 and was the last mudhen ever seen at Gunny,
