The Texas State Railroad was making money. More than any other State Park. Problem was/is that the proceeds are sent to Austin where they are combined with the monies from other operations. They just did not get back what was/is needed to properly operate and maintain what they have. The big stink about the reservoir taking up most of the property did not help matters.
