Why would Heimburger publish Wormwoods books and make a hero out of him if that was the case, and I’m not debating it, its probably true. Did someone fail to tell Heimburger that Wormwood was not a friend of the NG or railfans and that he "should alone to parish", or did Heimburger know Wormwood's rep and just didn't care and went after the money by making a NG god of Wormwood and his stories anyway?
