The added benefit of the wood block floors in a steel mill finishing area is NO DUST. The various tractors used to haul coils of steel and buggys of flat steel will grind up a cement floor and kick up a lot of dust which is not good in a steel mill. Steel is rather more fragile than most people think.
My daughter worked for RR Donnlley in Chicago for about 7 years as an industrial engineer and then a supervisor in the reprographics operation in Elgin (the one that burned down). She quit to become a full time mother after that.Hurray!
