Presently, there is a wood walk on the west side of the west stall, also behind both stalls. Pics from the 50's and 60's don't show this, they show bare dirt. When "Bite the Bullet" was filmed they used the enginehouse for several interior shots and installed false floors then. I belive the floor in what is now the tool room (was the "break room" in times gone by) was installed for the movie also. I'm thinking the old roundhouse in Durango had a dirt floor too. Although when I was younger I was too busy looking at the groovy steam motors to notice the floor.
