You might be right about the engine running till the 1960s. My memory is getting rusty. The fate of 458 remains a mystery. There are no published photos of the locomotive in Old Mexico. Leonard Haug and Mexican railfans did an excellent job recording NdeM engines for posterity but that locomotive seemed to escape their lenses, narrow gauge or standard gauge.
