I know, I know... time to cut down on my caffeine intake! What is being said is the CHS's "official" side of the story. It's not the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth bit it IS one part of the story. As with most situations, there are always at least two sides to any story this controversial! Unfortunately, the people that actually know the details of what exactly transpired last season on the Loop and at Uhrich's shop are not in a position to post their side of the story. (Behind the scenes is another matter as a debacle of this nature always has "leaks"!)
For me, the bottom line is that I want the #9 restored correctly and I want to ride behind it but I DON'T want to see it run into scrap on the Loop in daily service!! (This was what we feared would happen if and when the #9 was restored to running condition back when we first heard about this!)
I also want the Loop to be healthy and vibrant with steam engines running daily doing what the Loop has done for the past 33 years...bring joy, wonder and a sense of Colorado's historic past to new generations of tourists and railfans alike! My frustration is mostly due to the perception that anything positive at the Loop is mostly in spite of the CHS's handling rather than because of it! I do wish Railstar and it's employees all the best this season as I think they are going to need it...
