The only thing I can add is that it was actually a C&S crew that worked the 74 off the flatcar and to the park where it was set on display.
There was great enthusiasm among C&S employees that #74 was spared by the efforts of Dr. JB Schoolland, who was really the point and financial backer on this great project. The money raised by the school kids and donations in fruit jars at the local stores helped, and later caught up, but Dr. Schoolland stood silently behind everything and never asked for any recognition for doing so. His dream was that the engine could be saved and returned to Boulder through nickel and dime donations. And it was.
