THANKS for these great shots!
A buddy and I were there in August of 1968 on the way to Durango, and Earl's exactly right. At least seven engines were stored to the left of the house, all without tenders. The pilots of the engines behind were right up against the buffers of the engines in front. Looking left to right from the turntable were 488, 495, 487 and 491. I don't believe an engine was stored behind 488, but a K-36 was behind each of 495 and 487. 494 was behind 491.
Off the turntable a ways the cab of 490 was face down on the ground.
In the house, left to right looking from the turntable were 483, 493, 481, 489, 484 and 492. There may have been others but I don't believe so.
I think two were under steam and I recall that one had her smokebox door open and it was clear some work had been, or was being done.
Unfortunately, I/we didn't take any "area" shots that day, so once again I really appreciate the sharing of your photos.
