well I went and looked at the Photo's and I have to agree. I had measured it on one of my trips to Chama Just in case. the opening is 10"-1" wide x 10"10 tall the boards on three sides are approx 9" wide and the bottom board is 5.5" wide. assume 2" stock. location is centered in middle window location and bottom of opening 3' below adjacent window sills. I thought I had read in Norwoods books about a boiler being replaced making it necessary for the opening? or was it Richardson's narrow gauge news?
