Hi Taylor,
You need a monitor calibration tool. They are down around $100 now, and make a huge difference! I bought a Pantone Spyder, and now, what I see on the screen, is what I get on the print. Saves a ton of ink and paper.
As far as colorized images, I like them, but do feel that it is important to put something permanent on them to make sure people know. I took Taylor's effort and added some fairly unobtrusive lettering to it. Sorry Taylor, couldn't resist the play on words!
