Boy! I remember THAT ride!! I was in the car directly behind the engine as it came down from Silver Plume. If you looked over to the north side of the I-70 cut, there was what looked like a waterfall but it was mud and debris!! Ordinarily, I wouldn't have cared and would have sat out in the open gondola (seeing as how they were all empty) but that rain was COLD!!
We had loaded at Devil's Gate so I missed the journey back up (and it's four delays) but the one down was enough for me! We were speculating that some of the "beefier" passengers might have to lend a hand moving that rock! Even with all of the troubles that ride,it still is going to be one of my "special" memories!
