There are some of us here on this board who think exactly like you. I don't see why the historical aspect of the locomotives has to be compromised. Albeit, from 1925-1934 the K-36's and K-37's didn't have doghouses on the tenders, but for the majority of their careers on the Rio Grande they did. So one could argue that the D&S is using that time period to represent their locomotives. Also, would the D&S or C&TS lose money because their locomotives had a Rio Grande herald--I don't think so and the average tourist wouldn't care a bit either. I would love to see the locomotives painted historically correct but it's just not a view shared by most--maybe that will change. I'm sure these comments may start an argument, but I can't change my views or opinions on this matter.
