Thanks for the response. I thought the tank for the pass was just down from the top and beyond the loading dock that is on the spur just past the snow shed.
The footings we saw were on a curve, next to a fill, on the fireman's side. There was a trickle of water down at the bottom of the fill. We followed the creek back aways from the fill. It wound back behind the grade. I always thought this was Gray's tank and siding. I had no recollection it was 6.5 miles from the top. Sure could be. You know, a car of foamers on Marshall Pass have no concept of time or distance, unless someone is assigned to the task. I thought I read that the tank there had been moved from one side of the grade to the other sometime during it's life.
The uncertainty is a good excuse to go back over the Pass again next Summer for "research purposes". Earl, how about leading a trip over the Pass after a Friend's Work Session, like you did when you took us from Chama to Durango. In your spare time, of course, yeah sure.
