Thanks for reminding me about *Around the Circle,* the Machines of Iron tape. I've got that too, and it is a different product from the WB Video tapes.
I think what we are seeing is footage by different men taken on the same trips in some instances. Like the guys in the gons on the clean-up train on Marshall Pass. Also, then as now, fans often used similar photo vantage points. Footage of 3600's in helper service in the final days of steam on the standard gauge D&RGW filmed by Otto Perry and that taken by Irving August nearly duplicate each other in some instances. The Irv August films were used to make WB Video's *Rio Grande of the Rockies,* including 3600's in helper service out of Tabernash; Otto Perry filmed in similar locations, see Sunday River's *Otto Perry's Rio Grande Articulateds I and II.*
IIRC, a Movietone News cameraman took some footage of the last excursion through the Black Canyon in 1949. Has any of this news reel film surfaced on the enthusiast video market?
