This past summer, my Dad was driving out near Del Norte, and spotted something that looked like a boxcar behind an old yellow farmhouse. He took some measurements of the car and found it to be just about 24'3" long and 7'6" wide (outside dimensions). It had bolt holes on the ends, but no signs of a coupler pocket. To me, the photos suggest it may have never gotten anything beyond link and pin couplers, and it may have had the distinctive end platforms of B&S boxcars, but I didn't see the car in person, and neither my Dad nor I are experts in the little details with cars.
So, I'm going to post a bunch of the photos here in the hopes that someone's interest might be enough to take a look at the car in the near future. I probably won't be able to get back to CO till next summer, and I'd really hope that someone can figure out if this is one of the 24' boxes from the D&RG or if it's something else.
This car is located just a couple miles west of Del Norte on the north side of highway 160. It's located about 50' behind an abandoned yellow farm house, and to the east a little bit, is another farmhouse with an adobe building.
