Re: 481 on the D&S

Hey, for what its worth I missed seeing 481 by one month in 1981. We had our honeymoon in late June-early July, and we stayed at Ah Wilderness for 4 days and nights among our Colorado travels. They were still splitting the engines for the Animas River High Bridge. Kathi and I walked 3 miles down to the bridge to Photograph a doubleheader with a Pair of K28's, then had to hike back, just made it for lunch. I have this on sound Super 8 movies. Each engine blew down the boiler as it crossed....probably still do that today.
So was 481 the first K36 to operate on the D&S, or did 480 run first! What was the date of 480 running. I know I saw it in 1985 for sure.
