Rick, I'm not going to let myself get sucked into that mess, other than to say this ain't 1937, and yes, I know you know that. A couple of parting shots--- peanut whistle (would drive dogs wild for 20 miles and probably not be allowed by today's OSHA), burned coal (Oh my GAWD!!), had the right sized tender (how about let's get that piece of business done before we get too carried away?).......

By the way, Greg, the rails were removed from the original Loop in March, 1939, the same exact month the shop made that new numberplate.
And by the way, if any greenhorn claims that as far as the C&S was concerned, the real and forever "last run" of C&S #9 wasn't at the 1939 World's Fair in New York, you're a sissy and your Momma wears Army shoes and you probably think that spark apperatus was really called a beartrap.
