And you see a lot of pictures of pipe gons with this larger style pipe also. Don't know what it was used for. I have a great picture of a train full of pipe gons and there are cars full of a few different sizes 18" and larger, some looking bigger like culvert pipe. John hit it on the head also, the price was sure right!! Makes for a nice display.
We had a guy on our crew for the idler flats who had spent his life in the oil business. Fascinating listening to the procedures. He really was great in explaing how the "field" end of the business worked.
