Well put Mike. As you probably know, but others may not, is that the C&S specifically and intentionally did not conform to CB&Q standards on the NG. As they pointed out to Chicago, they were trying to abandon the ng and they did not want to call attention to the fact that it belonged to the big CB&Q and therefore could afford to continue the line even at a loss. Otherwise the Circular Trademark might have been the CB&Q Box!
