If you read Linn's post carefully he never said that he saw it personally or that he rode in it. He said he saw it in his fathers movies.
I did ride the "Silver Vista" in July of 53 and I loved it. When I found out later that it had burned in the fall of that year I was shocked and saddened. It is my clearest memory of my first ride to Silverton.
