Yea, that engine was completely worn out when the RGS bought it in 1948, and I'd be willing to bet that it's condition hasn't improved over the last 58 years.
One tends to wonder what the state of mind the RGS management had when they ok'ed that purchase. It's not as if that company had a lot of money to toss around foolishly.
