Hope you can answer this, Earl. Way back when, I recollect there was a valve at about the 2 o'clock position high on the backhead (which engine # I can't remember) which was referred to me as being the "mountain cock", and was explained to me that it was used to admit saturated steam on the opposite side of the piston. Is this the water brake which is being referred to?
