Have you ever tried locust? The reason I ask is that most all of the siding and trim on our Bingham & Garfield business car seems to be that type of wood. Unfortunately, before we got the car somebody sandblasted the whole thing and we've now got to replace most of the exterior woodwork. Anyway, I doubt it will get locust again, probably just fir or a good clear pine.
