Well Bob, since you bragg about being in contact with Gov. Cargo, did he mention that the C&TSMG was set up at the REQUEST of the commission? When the RGRPC was forced to leave by the commission, they, (the commission) didn't have a backup plan. The commission ASKED members of the Friends to come up with a management plan to keep the railroad running so we would have an operating season this year. It is a ONE YEAR agreement, no more, no less. Why are you insinuating that the Frinds plan to try to be the operator for any longer? NO ONE that I have talked to has that idea. I realize that all of this occured BEFORE Gov. Cargo came on the scene, but it still happened.
I sure hope that Gov. Cargo's remarks about the C&TSMG are taken out of context as I feel it wouldn't be benificial to anyone to sling mud at each other in public. While I am sure there has been disagreement in the negotiations, it is better not to air dirty laundry in public.
I have no doubt the RFP will go forward soon for next year, but in the meantime I pray that ALL parties pull together to make this season as sucessfull as possible for the railroad that we all love sake.
