Rio Grande Flanger Sign?

February 10, 2006 02:34PM
Jim,
I'm not familiar with Rio Grande signs, so I don't know what it would have been. I'm sure someone here can enlighten us on Rio Grande flanger signs.
On the NYC it would have been a "Y" shaped sign with the blades at 45 degree angles. Signs were often made from old boiler tubes with flat metal welded on for the blades. The Y indicates an obstruction in between the rails. I suspect it's not the frog that would have got them, but the diverging rail leading up to the frog.
