Further update to Stone Creek:
It did, indeed, close in 2005, and all cars and locomotives were sold off. In talking with one of the employees, all the bricks that were left (several millions!) were being sold to provide funding for the remaining employees' pensions. We ended up with four of the side dump mine cars, intending to use at least one of them in the Doe River Gorge as a maintenance of way car. We need it to gather & haul the rocks that fall in the tunnels and off the cliffs and cuts. While we might use a second, the others are available. One is in my driveway as I clean & repaint it. I also have one of the links and several pins!
