After posting the question here, I realized this isn't really a narrow guage issue, so I reposted the same question in the nostalgia section at trainorders.com. It has already gotten a number of responses. That might be a good place to go to learn more. Among the things said, is that in ABS territory multiple trains can have the same block authority so long as they are all going in the same direction....since ABS can controls train seperation.
A question for Eugene. Am I to interpret what you have said to mean that roads operating under NORAC rules are still using DTC? I'm an ex-SP person, and always thought DTC was a peculiarly SP invention although the CNW also used in some sections of railroad. I used the term "triumphed" because when UP took over, all the DTC parts of the SP were eventually changed to TWC. Which roads operate under NORAC?
