There's a lot more to the story than the boiler simply "not fitting". The new boiler had reportedly been red-tagged by the state inspector after arrival from the manufacturer, who had a history of other botched jobs and I believe no longer has their "S" stamp (if even in business). Others know far more of the story than I do, so I'll leave it to someone else to fill in the details. From what I've heard, it would be better used as a septic tank than on another locomotive!
