You know I have witnessed our guys putting in a hundred ties in one day, but that is hard work.. I have shoveled steam locomotives up cumbres many years, but a day of setting spikes by hand and inserting ties is just as rough if not rougher sometimes.. its hard work.. no doubt about that. I give our track crews alot of credit, they do hard work!!!
The Track from my point of view and I ride it everyday isn't all that bad, if we could fix the kinks and a few soft spots i would be happy, I really don't think its all that bad.. But we could make it alot better with some work and elbow grease. To be honest when I am running trains i worry about my passengers and how smooth of ride I can give them, I worry about my speed and rocks and making sure the track crews are in the clear and if my fireman isn't getting to burned out, the track doesn't worry me, I trust our track crews and the work they do.
