Chris, its not that rosey for #30/74. That engine has, or at least used to have, some of its appliances, but none of them are in working order. Hopefully, no one will get the idea to rob Peter and pay Paul leaving #30/74 with no appliances and many parts missing in the excitement to try to get #9 running.
This is, however, exactly what I expect will happen, or is being considered.
Hopefully, someone will be diligent in the management of those assets which belong to Boulder's Engine and keep them from being "loaned" to #9. It is my fervent expectation that CHS will fit out #9 with their own parts acquired from God knows where and not leave #30/74 a cannibalized wreck, replacing #9's status of the last 50 years.
