In the spirt of adding heat and lights to "modren" passenger cars heres a little info on what the D&RGW did to Baggage cars:163,164,165,167,168,169.
Apply extension side bearings,reinforce underframe,and lower body of cars #163 & 167,done by 6-30-22.
Same for car 164 done by 3-31-23
Same for car 165 done by 7-31-23
Same for car 169 done by 11-30-23
Same for car 168 done by 6-30-24
Cost per each car was $348.18
Then on 9-30-25 car #'s 164,165, and 168 got strechers"for emergency use". Cost $23.25
Work was completed by 12-31-37, under A.F.E.#6077 Install Electric Lighting: replace from each car 2 caboose lamps, with 6 lamp fixtures.
Install Delco electric light plant operated with Skelgas to supply electricity for train lighting. Materal all new. one for each car.
Model 60AD-1 6000 watt 110 volt D>C> Delco light plant,including 5-6volt auto batteries,battery connectors, and a special gas connector for operation with Skelgas,battery to motor bottem connectors,and 6 skelgas regulators.
Equip with steam heating system,install Vapor car heating system.
Equip with Westinghouse air signal system.
Retire 1 coal stove per car complete.
Total cost for 6 cars $9080.88,($1513.48 per car)less $396.90 for retired property
Then on 2-28-46 the light plant was retired from car #165
All 6 cars were retired (from account #54, Pass. cars) on 12-31-52
