Rubbing alcohol was the only alcohol allowed on a train. It is drinkable (unlike methyl (wood) alcohol) but causes considerable loosening of the lower tract. Alcohol labeled "Old Grand-Dad", "Early Times","Jamesons", "Johnny Walker Red", "Canadian Club", "Smirnoff", "Beefeater's" "Ron Rico" or "Jose Cuervo" anywhere on the train could cause an investigation of the crew members and possible dismissal. The impurities present in these aforementioned brands could cause unpredictable handling of the train.
