PRSL,
I seem to remember reading in one of the books that during one of the Ames slide blockages on the RGS that Farmington Oil was shipped over the San Juan Extension to the oil refinery in Salt Lake City for a period of time. Seems like a long way around but no worse than flying to Phonix by way of LA which I have done. This I think was during the 1920's or early 30's before the Alamosa refinery.
I have a question also about how the oil was shipped from the Navaho Creek area after oil was discovered there early in the century (last one)
