My understanding is Hines bought OLC in the mid 50's. I believe the #7 remained at S.Baker till about '62 or '63. I believe I have a copy of a document at home that lists when it left for the Black Hills Central. I will try to look it up tonight. I have often wondered what use it saw after 1947 on the SVRy. I have yet to find someone who can difinitively say when the last rails were pulled on the mainline comming into S.Baker. I have heard some say early 50's. As it is widley reported to have pulled the scrap trains it would be interesting to know when this was and also if it was ever steamed up after that and used for switching if the 101 was down for repairs at any time. I had assumed it was converted back to wood for the scap trains, but I ran into something awile back with a date that it was converted back to wood somewhat later, so this suggests it may have been kept operable as a back up for switching as maintaining a heated tank of bunker C just for occasional use wouldn't have been very cost effective and wood waste was always at hand at S.Baker. I will try to find some documentation on this if anyone is interested.
