Yes, GLRR Inc. did do quite a bit of work to #40 before shipping it north. When the deal was struck, #40 was sitting next to the Silver Plume Shop with the first driver set removed (it was being turned, I believe in Durango). Before going to WP&YR, GLRR gave #40 a form 4 boiler inspection and associated repairs, complete running gear overhaul, among other things. Also at this time, #40 received #44's tender, and is still running with it currently.
