Interesting you should post the title in German. A while back we were at a Plandampf in Germany, and scouting out a "fantastic shot" suggested by a German friend. Up on a hill, outside a sweeping curve. Nice - but a HUGE pole line between you and the train. I passed.
Later I ran into him, and he asked me "what happened? Could you not get there in time?"
"Too many wires. I just didn't like it."
Too many wires? But the wires are just part of the scene!"

I don't worry too much about Photo Shop magic. It's really not all that different from dodging, burning and retouching in concept. One of Winston Link's biggest reasons for shooting at night was to selectively drop elements out of a photo while emphasizing others.
For a screensaver or a framed print, have your fun.
In a "more serious" work - one of Dorman's books, for example, where one expects authenticity - I wouldn't retouch wires or people out of the picture.
