The last rails south of Chama all came up in 1902 when the line extended to Brazos and west across Willow Creek and up to a final saw mill (1900-1902)on south side of Saw Mill Mesa via a very steap looping grade. All track relocated to Horse Lake Jct. on RG&SW and to El Vado. Same country was then logged from the west and logs to new mill at El Vado, then run by Burns-Biggs Lbr. Co.
