Taylor: Early this season there was a fellow that visited us at SVRy who inquired about running his 2 NG tank engines on the RR. I beleive he was from Salem, Ore. and the engines were coal burning Vulcans. He was or is in the process of restoring them, and it sounded like he was several years out on having them operable. As I recall he was faced with a major boiler repair which if memory serves me was replacment of a front tube sheet. Maybe someone will post something on this. Coincidently, the same weekend another individual was at our RR who was from Dallas, Ore. who also had a NG project, but I don't remember what. I think that in both cases these were private individuals rather than clubs or non-profit groups.
