Well the 492 can be brought back into service, it is repairable, but we will have to wait for the future I think, to be honest the 490's are rough on the track, any track, but they steam like crazy.. the 497 was a great steamer, but it was rough on a fireman... the firedoor is a little low and you really have to swing the shovel to hit the front of the firebox... and once in a while the firedoor wouldn't open at all and WHAM, I slammed a few shovels into 497's firedoor.
